My goal is to welcome all students to my body affirming yoga classes that make poses accessible to all shapes, body sizes, and all flexibility levels. I provide and suggest modifications personalized for YOU. These modifications invite you to celebrate your personal best in each yoga pose and achieve a deeper level of body acceptance within your yoga practice.
Yoga has been a part of my life for over 25 years. I have adapted my practice to reflect the seasons of my life. Over the years I have had varying flexibility levels, and a constantly changing body and weight.
It has been my experience that whether I am following a video at home, or at classes in a studio or gym, that modifications aren’t always presented to students that need them. Due to my body shape I have extra flesh in my lower abdomen and arms that aren’t long enough for me to transition comfortably between basic poses.
This is what has inspired me to complete a local yoga teacher certification course. This course has provided me with an in depth knowledge of the yoga asanas, or poses and movements. I also continue to educate myself on the various modifications available for each pose.
I want you to have your own yoga experience with the body that you have.
